  • The Administration for Children and Families, from the Department of Health and Human Services. Responsible for "federal programs which promote the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals, and communities." Provides links to the more than a dozen ACF programs and services, including the Office of Family Assistance, created by the Welfare Reform Law of 1996, which oversees TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), the program that replaced AFDC (Aid to Families with Dependent Children) and JOBS (Job Opportunities and Basic Skills Training). Also contains reports to Congress and current press releases concerning child welfare.

  • Adolescence Directory On-Line, from the Center for Adolescent Studies at Indiana University.

  • The Adoption Book Catalog, contains over 250 books on adoption, infertility, and parenting challenges. Topics include "how to adopt," "raising adopted children," "international adoption," "open adoption," "search and reunion", and "learning about infertility."

  • Adoptive Families of America, non-profit organization bringing together people interested in adoption and resources to support adoption and children without permanent homes.

  • Adult Children of Alcoholics Resources

  • All About Kids Online, family and parenting resource site based on the Parenting Magazine, "All About Kids." Includes an interactive forum for visitor feedback. Intended as a children's issues resource.

  • All Family Resources, resources in many areas of family management, including a special Children/Teen section.

  • American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences

  • Australian Institute of Family Studies, includes research.

  • Child Development Resources

  • Children, Youth and Family Education and Research Network

  • Child, Youth, and Family Consortium, an electronic clearinghouse providing a pathway to information related to the health, education and welfare of children, youth and families.

  • Children in the States: 1998 Data. From the Children's Defense Fund. From this site users may access specific state pages which feature a large range of current data on population and family characteristics, economic security and federal program participation, child health and disabilities, childcare and early childhood education, and youth development.

  • Children's Rights of America, national non-profit organization that helps abused, neglected, and/or missing children and their families.

  • Families Under Construction, Inc., with tools that provide practical solutions for building, maintaining, and repairing families.

  • Family.com, offers activity planning, baby and pregnancy information, and education information.

  • Family Links, from Nerd World Media.

  • Family Planet

    Fatherhood

  • American Coalition for Fathers and Children: "Fathers Rights for Gender Equality."
  • At-Home Dad, a quarterly newsletter promoting the home-based father.
  • Father Facts, review of current social science literature on fatherhood & family trends. Compiled by National Fatherhood Initiative president Wade Horn.
  • The Fatherhood Project, national research and education project examining the future of fatherhood and developing ways to support men's involvement in child rearing.
  • FatherNet, from the Children, Youth and Family Consortium. Includes research, policy and opinion documents to inform users about the factors that support and hinder men's involvement in the lives of children.
  • Father-to-Father, national effort to unite men in the task of being a strong and positive force in their children's lives.
  • FatherWork, "stories, activities, and ideas to encourage generative fathering."
  • Institute for Responsible Fatherhood & Family Revitalization, home-based grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging fathers to become involved in the lives of their children in a loving, compassionate, and nurturing way.
