  • The Early Modern English Dictionaries Database (EMEDD)

  • Gothic Literature, a site devoted to study of Gothic Literature in England from 1764 to 1820. This site is intended to provide students and scholars of the Gothic novel access to the growing number of resources available on the web. An introduction to the Gothic novel, collected summaries, papers, critical and bibliographical information and related sites are assembled together to expedite research.

  • Harlem Renaissance

  • Iter: Gateway to the Middle Ages & Renaissance. non-profit research project with partners in Toronto, Canada (the headquarters), New York City, and Tempe, Arizona. The goal of Iter is to increase access to all published materials pertaining to the Middle Ages and Renaissance (400-1700), through the creation of online bibliographic databases. The Journals Database includes approximately 230,000 records (as of October 2000) from secondary materials published in over 400 journals, from 1859 to the present. Proxy Access.

  • Literary Movements, "provides a brief overview, including definitions and links, of selected movements in American literature and culture".

  • Middle English Compendum (MEC) includes the Middle English Dictionary (MED), the HyperBibliography of Middle English Prose and Verse, and a Corpus of Middle English Prose and Verse. Proxy Access.

  • Sixteenth Century Renaissance English Literature: 1485-1603.

  • Victorian Database Online, allows you to search over 70,000 records containing bibliographic records of books, articles, and dissertation abstracts published from 1970 to 1999 dealing with nineteenth-century British studies. Accessible from UK campus machines.

  • The Victorian Web, The place to start when researching the Victorian age (1837-1901). Concise articles (with links for further reading) on a variety of topics, including gender, science, technology, politics, literature, visual arts, religion, philosophy and more.
  • Victorian Women Writers Project, the written work of nineteenth-century British women authors. The scope of the project encompasses novels, poetry, verse drama, political pamphlets, religious tracts, and children's books.
