  • Adherents.com, a growing collection of over 32,000 adherent statistics and religious geography citations. Researchers can use this site to answer such questions as "What are the major religions of Taiwan?", "How many Hindus are in South Africa?" or "What percentage of Bolivians are Protestant?"

  • American Academy of Religion Syllabi Project, The American Academy of Religion (AAR) Syllabi Project, an initiative of the AAR's Committee on Teaching and Learning, compiles syllabi and other pedagogical resources for the academic study of religion.

  • American Religion Data Archive (ARDA), project funded by the Lilly Endowment, Inc. and acts to preserve quantitative data on American religion, to improve access to this data, to increase the use of the data, and to allow comparisons across data files. The ARDA collection includes data on churches and church membership, religious professionals, and religious groups (individuals, congregations and denominations).

  • American Religious Identification Survey

  • Association for Religion and Intellectual Life, covers the thought and writing from various world religions, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Buddhism. With feature articles, book and movie reviews, music, and graphics.

  • The APS Research Guide, to Resources for Theological and Religious Studies.

  • Information on World Religions, from the Ontario Centre for Religious Tolerance. Describes 63 religions, including large ones like Christianity and Islam, and some smaller but interesting ones, like Satanism, Wicca and Zoroastrianism.

  • Internet Resources for the Academic Study of Religion, from Muhlenburg College.

  • Religion Online[Frames], an extensive digital library of over 250 book chapters, monographs, speeches, and articles on the socio-cultural aspects of Christianity. The texts, written by religious scholars, are arranged into twenty subject sections, such as Church and Society, Church History, Comparative Religion, and Sociology of Religion, among many others.

  • Religion & Philosophy Resources on the Internet, from Mugar Memorial Library, Boston University.

  • Patrologia Latina Database (PLD), electronic version of the first edition of Jacques-Paul Migne's Patrologia Latina, published between 1844 and 1855, and the four volumes of indexes published between 1862 and 1865. The Patrologia Latina comprises the works of the Church Fathers from Tertullian in 200 AD to the death of Pope Innocent III in 1216. From Chadwyck Healey.
