Workshops

Your department or group can request a pre-developed teaching workshop or seminar.  These workshops provide a mix of research-based presentation and discussion time.  Workshops are designed to last about 50 minutes, but can be expanded or contracted according to your needs.

With a little more time and discussion, we can create a workshop or seminar specifically for your department or situation.  We can also modify our existing workshops to use specific disciplinary examples. 

The following topics are available on short (48-hr) notice:

  • Active learning with Powerpoint
  • Dealing with cheating
  • Dealing with incivility in the classroom
  • Developing a teaching portfolio
  • Creating learning objectives
  • Using student evaluations of teaching properly
