Robynn M. Pease, Ph.D., was elected as the staff representative to the board in 2009. She has served as the director of Work Life since 2007. She has nearly two decades of experience in the work-life field, specializing in aging services. Her prior employment includes Lexington-Fayette Urban-County Government Program Administrator for the Office of Aging Services and Projects Director for the Nursing Home Ombudsman Agency of the Bluegrass. She also has over four years of experience as a Children's Program Director for the YMCA and five years teaching English as a Second Language in the U.S. and Czech Republic. She received her bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of California Santa Cruz, a master's degree in German from San Francisco State University, and a doctorate in Sociology from the University of Kentucky. She also has a Certificate in Gerontology from the Sanders Brown Center on Aging. Dr. Pease serves on the executive committee of the Nursing Home Ombudsman Agency of the Bluegrass Board of Directors. She is a member of the College/University Family/Work Association, the American Society of Aging Association, and is an honorary member to the National Gerontology Academic Honor and Professional Society. Dr. Pease teaches part-time in the UK College of Social Work and the UK Department of Sociology.
