Ryan M. Smith, a Senior Political Science major from Louisville, Kentucky was elected the 47th Student Body President in April 2009. Smith is a 2005 graduate of Trinity High School. As a Junior, Smith spent a semester living in Washington, D.C. serving as a United States Senate Page for Senator Mitch McConnell. During college, Smith took time away from school to work as personal aide to RNC chairman Robert M. "Mike" Duncan. Additionally, from 2005 to 2008 Smith traveled to 5 continents and across the United States on behalf of the White House Advance team and President George W. Bush. Smith served as President of the Sigma Chi Fraternity from 2008 to 2009 and has been a part of DanceBlue, the state's largest student-run philanthropy, the University Leadership Summit, Kentucky Leadership Academy, and the S.E.E.D.S. program. Smith plans on attending law school after graduation.
