From Nick (Spring 2006):
Since receiving my scholarship in 2005, I have published one peer-reviewed article with Dr. Cooper. Thanks to the Beckman Scholarship, the work accomplished during my undergraduate career led me to serve as a research assistant for Dr. Gregory Jicha at the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, when I entered medical school at the University of Kentucky. Together, we will approach Alzheimer's disease from an uncommon angle, looking at vascular problems associated with the disease.
