Rebound: "Bouncing Back" From Academic Difficulty

Academic improvement does not happen on its own; rather, it requires an active approach toward knowledge, assessment, and planning. Rebound has four steps designed to assist student in:

  • Understanding university policies regarding probation and suspension, repeat options, and grade point averages.
  • Identifying factors that compromised academic success.
  • Designing a detailed action plan for the following semester.
  • Utilizing campus and web resources that will address areas affecting academic success.

Step 1: Understand the Rules of Probation

Every Student should be aware of the University's Academic Requirements. Undergraduate Studies students on probation are required to view the Rebound PowerPoint presentation, read the information on Scholastic Probation, Suspension, and Reinstatement, and take the Rebound Test.

Step 2: Complete a Self Assessment and Action Plan

It is important for students on probation to identify factors that contributed to their academic difficulty at UK and begin to develop a personal action plan to address these factors for the upcoming semster. Read and complete the appropriate Self-Assessment and Action Plan below:

Step 3: Attend Mandatory Advisor Meetings

Students on probation are required to meet with their advisor regularly. Find your academic status and click on the appropriate link below for more information on when to schedule an appointment with your advisor, and what you are required to complete and/ or bring for your first advisor meeting

Step 4: Attend a College Event and Utilize Campus Resources

Students on probation are required to attend at least on College Event, and work with their academic advisor to identify and use the appropriate resources to improve their academic standing.
