BCTCblue+ Pathway to Transfer Guides
BCTCblue+ is a program designed to promote successful undergraduate educational experiences for students whose academic plans involve enrollment at Bluegrass Community and Technical College and then a transfer to UK. This partnership results in better service, eliminates barriers and increases student success. The goal is to support a more seamless transfer to UK after achieving an Associates of Arts (AA) or Associates of Science (AS) degree at BCTC.
The Pathway to Transfer Guides provide suggested sequences of the course work that will satisfy the requirements for an AA or AS at BCTC and that are best suited for a completing a wide array of UK undergraduate majors in no more than two to three years after completing either the AA or AS degree. Some of the guides emphasize specific UK courses the student would need to take early in the BCTCblue+ Program to stay on a timely path for graduation, while others leave the choices up to student and their advisor.
As a BCTC student enrolled in the BCTCblue+ Program, you may take up to 12 hours of UK courses in your intended UK major over three semesters - at the BCTC tuition rate plus fees associated with part-time study at UK. Consult the Pathway to Transfer Guide for the UK degree best for you and then see your BCTC advisor or the UK Transfer Advisor for advice about which particular UK courses best fit your course of study.
