academic readiness program An important component of the Academic Readiness Program at the University of Kentucky is the COMPASS Placement Test. The UK COMPASS Placement Tests are offered to the newly admitted first year UK students to demonstrate proficiencies in basic skills - in particular, for students whose highest score on the:
Students who are eligible for the Academic Readiness Program can take the COMPASS Placement Test at a local ACT Testing Center (http://www.act.org/compass/sites/index.html). These tests are also available on campus for free to selected first-year students admitted to the University of Kentucky. Please use this online form to request a test appointment- whether on the UK campus or at a local testing center. Students may find out more about the COMPASS tests at this website: http://www.act.org/compass/student. Practice taking sample tests at the COMPASS website: http://www.act.org/compass/sample/index.html. Students MUST bring a picture ID to take a COMPASS test. Calculators are permitted by not supplied for the COMPASS Math Skills Test. Special need accommodations are available upon authorized request.
