To be a better student
I suggest reading all assigned material. I also recommend going
over the example problems while doing your homework. Going to all
classes and meeting with your teacher to clear up any problems you
may have is also a very essential part in succeeding. This will
let your teacher know you are trying and in return your teacher
will be more willing to help if he knows you are really trying.
To become a successful
student in a math class… any math class… the most important
things that needs to be done is to practice. By doing this, the
material becomes known rather than memorized and forgotten, and
that way when you move on to the next highest level math course,
the material will not be as difficult. I also suggest getting help
whether it be from your professor, or an outside source such as
a friend or a tutor if the material does not come easy to you. Spending
a little extra time understanding the material will only produce
positive results in the course and courses to come.
One thing that I have
learned is that it is important to actually read the material that
has been presented in class… even if the topic is not of interest.
This is especially important if you cannot understand your professor.
The book usually presents the same information in a different way,
and since all students do not learn the same way the book might
prove to be easer to comprehend. And if you think you already know
the information, read it anyways. It will give you reassurance and
confidence as you go into a test.
