Malaria is a life-threatening disease spread between humans by some types of mosquitoes that is mostly found in tropical countries. UK College of Pharmacy Dean Kip Guy, Ph.D., has researched this disease for nearly two decades. His current work is focused on researching treatments for malaria to help underserved populations, and understanding how this tropical parasitic disease is like one of Kentucky's most pressing health problems: cancer.
