Clarification:
Microsoft Software Access Eligibility
In response to questions concerning eligibility to access the software
provided via the University's Microsoft Campus Agreement, the IT Customer
Service Center offers the following clarification of the terms of the
agreement.
Under the Microsoft Campus Agreement, only University employees who
are designated as regular full-time or regular part-time faculty or
staff members are eligible to access and download the campus Microsoft
products. Access is not extended to temporary employees or students,
including graduate students, Medical Center house staff or residents,
and postdoctoral students.
Authorization to obtain software under the Microsoft Campus Agreement
is provided through HRS codes implemented by University departments.
Individuals who have questions about their employment designation should
query their Dean or department head, or departmental business officer.
Eligible faculty and staff can access the University's Microsoft software
at the UK Software website.
Individuals needing assistance are invited to contact the IT Customer
Service Center by visiting the office in 111 McVey Hall between 7 a.m.
and 6 p.m. M-F, phoning 257-1300, or sending an online query via the
CSC website.
