Follow Up with Your Advisor

  1. Talk with your academic advisor about your career and major interests. Most careers do not require one specific major. If that is the case for the careers you are considering, which major do you enjoy the most? In almost all cases, your career will not be determined by the major you choose.
  2. Talk with your academic advisor about whether you plan to attend graduate school. It is very common to major in one area for your undergraduate degree, then specialize in a different field in graduate school. In almost all cases, your future academic career will not be determined by your choice of undergraduate major.
