Welcome to Transfer Student Services!

Transfer Student Services at the University of Kentucky is committed to making the transfer process as smooth as possible for you. We serve as a focal point for information concerning programs, resources and services available to aid the transfer student's entry and continued success at the University of Kentucky. Over 1,500 students transfer to the University of Kentucky every year, coming from a wide range of two- and four-year institutions. These students come for many reasons, including UK's vast array of academic programs, renowned research programs and exceptional faculty.

Transferring from one school to another can sometimes be a daunting task. That's why we here at Transfer Student Services work hard to make the transfer process seamless and to help ensure that qualified transfer students get the education they deserve.

Coming to UK from BCTC?

Are you either a current student or considering enrolling at Bluegrass Community and Technical College with the intention to transfer to the University of Kentucky? If so, BCTCblue+ might be a great program for you. The BCTCblue+ program is designed to help guide students at BCTC in making the transition to the University of Kentucky, through special services, Pathway to Transfer guides, and the ability to take courses at UK as a visiting student while attending BCTC.

So you're interested in transferring to the University of Kentucky? Well, you're not alone. Over 1,500 students transfer to UK annually and we'd love to see that number increase. The University of Kentucky's goal of attaining Top 20 status among research universities includes a drive to increase the recruitment and retention of transfer students. We are constantly improving our services for transfer students and we want to provide you with the best services possible.

As a first step, we recommend you learn more about the University of Kentucky and what we have to offer. You can research the University and its programs online, talk with a transfer counselor during a recruitment visit or speak with college representatives at UK Transfer Days, schedule a campus visit or talk with a transfer advisor at your school or our own dedicated transfer advisor. Whatever you choose, we'll work hard to get you the information you need to make this important decision.
