Dear Colleagues:
Welcome to the 2009 University of Kentucky United Way Campaign! Our campus-wide goal for the campaign is $500,000.00.
Once again this year, the faculty and staff of the University of Kentucky are being asked to support the United Way Campaign in the Bluegrass. Last year, members of the UK community contributed over $458,000. Our contributions are now being put to work by United Way agencies throughout the Bluegrass. This year, the needs may be even greater given the state of the economy. I am confident that UK employees can be counted on once more to do their part in sustaining these life-enhancing and even life-preserving services for others in need.

Retiree Campaign
Each year the University of Kentucky's Retiree Campaign provides an opportunity for former employees to again become part of the University team.
2009 UKUW Retiree Goal:
Henry Clay Owen, UKUW Retiree Chair, set an ambitious retiree campaign goal of $24,500.00 for the 2009 Campaign.
The Retiree Campaign raised $20,000 during the 2008 fall fund-drive. Thank you, Retirees, for continuing to support the uinversity through our annual United Way Campaign.
Schedule of Events - "Pass the Bucket" UK Football Game Collection
2009 Football Game Collection: Saturday, November 7 (game time to be announced) -- UK United Way cabinet members, employees and community volunteers will collect donations through the stands at Commonwealth Stadium during the UK vs Eastern Kentucky University football game. Check this site for more information as the game date draws near.
A very special thank you to each volunteer who helped with the 2008 collection event. The 2008 collection raised $17,902.72 towards the university's campaign.
Prizes!!!!
Campaign Prize Drawing: All employees who make a donation to the UK United Way campaign will be eligible for a campus-wide prize drawing. Prizes will be drawn at random on October 15 and November 9, 2009. Please ask for a prize drawing card to fill out when you return your completed UK pledge form showing a donation to the 2009 Campaign. Prize List

In appreciation of your support, United Way of the Bluegrass and the Lexington Legends are pleased to announce, for the sixth year in a row, all donors to United Way of the Bluegrass will receive a voucher good for two (2) tickets to a 2010 Lexington Legends Baseball game at Applebee’s Park.
To be eligible to receive a voucher, employees must complete a donation by pledge form. Vouchers will be distributed in early Spring 2010 after completion of the United Way campaign.
