Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I park when visiting the University of KY?

Parking instructions will be sent to you in the mail with your confirmation letter. You will be parking in Parking Structure #5 on the corner of Limestone / Upper St. and Euclid.

How long will the entire visit last?

The information session is about one hour long, and the tour is a 90-minute tour. You should allow approximately three hours for your visit.

What do we do in case of inclement weather?

Tours will be given rain or shine. In case of snow or ice, please call the Visitor Center before coming to campus. Please dress appropriately because it is an outdoor, walking tour of campus.

How early should I make reservations with the Visitor Center?

In most cases, there are openings in each session, so not a lot of advanced notice is required. However, if you wish to meet with an advisor or representative from a specific college or department, we ask that you let us know two weeks in advance.

Can I turn in an application during my visit?

Yes. You can leave your application with one of the Visitor Center Directors or take it to the admissions office while on campus.

Is it ever too early in a high school career to make a college visit?

No. The earlier you start looking at colleges the more time you will have to make an informed decision. We welcome visitors of all ages.

Who are the Campus Visits geared towards?

Campus visits through the Visitor Center are geared towards prospective undergraduate students and their families. Prospective graduate or professional students are encouraged to contact the particular schools with which they are interested.

What if I need to cancel a reservation?

If you are unable to make your appointment, please give us a call as soon as you know that you will not be here. This allows us to make those spots available to other students.
