Campus Life
Get Involved at UK!
College isn't all about books, and learning doesn't end at the classroom door. At UK, you will get a well-rounded education in books and life. Check out over 300 student organizations including academic clubs, social groups, Greek organizations, student media, cultural events and leadership activities - all looking for enthusiastic participants like you. There's everything from Air Force ROTC to Golden Key National Honor Society to the Wrestling Club including philanthropic, religious, academic honorary, social and sports groups, among others. Our Greek system includes 26 fraternities and 17 sororities in which you can participate. Each student organization carries its own mission and helps build leadership through campus and community involvement.
UK students are actively involved in making the Lexington community a better place through the Student Volunteer Center. Working alongside faculty and staff, over 700 participants join in UK FUSION (UK For Unity and Service In Our Neighborhoods), a student-led day of service for the university community held during Kentucky Welcome week, the fall welcome week for new students.
Over 50 varsity, club and intramural sports allow students to test their athletic abilities at all levels. Sweat it out in the weight room, join a pick-up game or scale the climbing wall at the Johnson Recreation Center. This $15 million addition to the Seaton Center also includes a new cardio room, a suspended running track, and racquetball courts.
