Catholic Action Center
The Catholic Action Center was founded in June 2000 in Lexington and is based on the Catholic Worker Movement, began by Dorothy Day. The center provides hospitality to all those who are in need focusing on homelessness and poverty in the Lexington area. Helping Hands works with the Catholic Action Center in serving meals as well as small service projects such as special events the Center is organizing.
Hope Center of Lexington
The Hope Center which was founded in 1980 is focused on proving service to those in the Lexington Community affected by homelessness. This includes giving them immediate basic needs such as food and shelter. The Hope Center is a development program that also helps individuals recovering from addiction and development of employment skills and housing support to end the battle with homelessness and poverty in the Lexington community. Helping Hands works with the Hope Center by serving lunch and dinner as well as with other small service projects and special events.
God's Pantry
God’s Pantry is a food bank located in Lexington at 1685 Jaggie Fox Way. It is working with the greater Central and Eastern Kentucky areas to give families and individuals food that are in need. Helping Hands will work with God’s Pantry in their Food Bank Warehouse sorting donated food items as well as with special events planned through God’s Pantry.
