our staffJulie Wrinn, DirectorJulie Kuzneski Wrinn became director of the conference in 2007 after serving for three years on its board of directors. A native of Indiana, Pennsylvania, she received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from the University of Virginia. A ten-year veteran of the book publishing business, she held editorial positions at several publishers in Washington, D.C., most notably as managing editor at Counterpoint Press, the esteemed independent publisher now based in California. After moving to Kentucky in 2002, she continued as a freelancer for Counterpoint and had the privilege of editing Wendell Berry and W. S. Merwin. Now living in a house full of testosterone- husband and two young sons- she relishes her work with an arts organization that focuses on the feminine. |
Vaughan Fielder, Associate DirectorVaughan Fielder completed her Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Kentucky in the summer of 2009, and she received a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of Kentucky in 2002. An experienced graphic and Web designer, she designed the Women's Writer's Conference Web site and those of several other UK departments. In 2005 she received a grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women to increase awareness about disability caregivers by photographing and interviewing mothers of children with disabilities and creating a Web site with that content. Vaughan has also been a graduate assistant for UK's Institute for Rural Journalism and Community Issues and an affordable housing market researcher. On KWWC staff since 2007, Vaughan has resolved issues regarding registration, presenter travel arrangements, the Listserv, the Facebook page, the conference archives, and other challenges confronting the Conference staff. In addition to her work as the Program Coordinator for KWWC, Vaughan works as a Web developer for University of Kentucky's Office of Academic Administration, Undergraduate Education, and the Graduate School. She and her daughter happily reside in downtown Lexington. |
