The Targeted Watershed List includes three Priority Watersheds in which task forces are organizing now. See the Priority Watershed web page for more information about these three watersheds.

Two other categories of watersheds have been targeted for mobilization and outreach, as described in the Mobilization Strategy (a PDF file) in the Kentucky River Basin Management Plan.

One basis for the Targeted Watershed List is information about conditions in and threats to each watershed, as summarized in the Assessment Report and Ranked Watershed List. The other element is the practicality of action in each watershed, including technical, economic, and political feasibility and the degree of local interest.
