EXPERTISE
Anna oversees a number of activities for KWRRI, including website development/management, creation of public relations and communications materials, and, along with program director Stephanie Jenkins, event coordination. Anna also serves on the University of Kentucky Superfund Basic Research Program (UK-SBRP) Research Translation Core (RTC) and acts as RTC liaison to the UK-SBRP Community Outreach Core. In this capacity, she assists with design and implementation of the communication components of environmental health initiatives around the Commonwealth. Anna also is former chair of the Bluegrass Partnership for a Green Community's Outreach and Communication Team.

Previously, Anna acted as communication specialist with UK's Tracy Farmer Center for the Environment, where she coordinated a number of public events and managed the TFCE website redesign. Prior to that, she standardized proposal procedures as assistant to the managing director with MacLellan Integrated Services, an international industrial services organization. She first came to Lexington as marketing and events coordinator for the Lexington Arts and Cultural Council, where she managed marketing efforts in support of a fundraising campaign that grew from $800,000 to $1,000,000 during her tenure. She also organized such local events as Lexington's annual A Night for the Arts and the Lexington Arts Education Showcases while serving on numerous civic committees, including the local Mayfest and state Arts Education Showcase steering committees. She previously served as communications/editorial assistant with her alma mater's Office of Communication and began her career in broadcast media.

A member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta national honor societies, Anna is a cum laude graduate of Centre College. Following the completion of more than 30 graduate hours in dramaturgical studies at Florida State University, Anna earned her master's degree in communication science with an emphasis in health communication from the University of Kentucky. She has particular interest in integrating technology and participatory action research to improve environmental health programs in underserved communities.
