Kentucky Research Consortium for Energy & the Environment

Kentucky River Watershed Watch
Kentucky River Watershed Watch is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization formed in 1997 through the cooperation of the Sierra Club, the Kentucky Waterways Alliance, and the Division of Water's Water Watch program. Its membership focuses water quality monitoring and improvement efforts within the Kentucky River Basin.
Kentucky River Watershed Watch Database
Beginning in 1998, Kentucky River Watershed Watch (KRWW) volunteers began sampling waterbodies throughout the Kentucky River Basin. Sampling events occur throughout the spring, summer and fall and are typically conducted to test for herbicides and pesticides; pathogens; chemicals and nutrients; and metals. If high readings are found during the pathogen testing event, sites are normally sampled a second time during the summer. The database contains data results collected by KRWW samplers since 1999.

The Research Translation Core provides updates on Superfund events and coverage in the popular press, overviews of the program's research projects and support cores, a listing of academic presentations and publications based on Superfund projects, information for program faculty, and contact information for individuals participating in the Superfund Basic Research Program at the University of Kentucky.
