The Digital Media and Design Minor gives students a grounding in graphic design, web design, digital photography and digital videography. The Digital Media and Design Minor is open to students from any college.

Careers

 

Students will gain critical skills for succeeding in today’s world, including the ability to work with still and moving images using the latest software. Our alumni are working as professional photographers, graphic designers, art educators, professional artists, and in art galleries, museums, and in other industries.

Classes & Requirements

 

What You'll Study

 

Students will choose from courses that teach practical skills in digital photography, studio lighting, web design, graphic design and digital video as well as theories of graphic design and photography. Through the completion of the minor, students will understand both how to create and present digital content effectively. 

 


Minor Requirements 

At least two courses chosen from:

  • A-H 101 Introduction to Visual Studies
  • A-S 102 Two-Dimensional Surface
  • A-S 130 Drawing
  • A-S 103 Three Dimensional Form
  • A-S 200 Introduction to Digital Art, Space and Time
  • A-S 280 Introduction to Photographic Literacy

  • A-S 320 Printmedia: Screenprint/Relief
  • A-S 321 Printmedia: Intaglio/Lithography

  • A-S 340 Introduction to Graphic Design, Meaning, and Image
  • A-S 341 Graphic Design: Layout
  • A-S 345 Web Design
  • A-S 346 Digital Video
  • A-S 347 Multimedia (Subtitle required)
  • A-S 348 Circuits & Bits: Introduction to Hardware and Software Topics in Arts
  • A-S 364 Introduction to Digital Fabrication
  • A-S 365 Digital Fabrication and Design

  • A-S 367 Topics in Digital Fabrication (Subtitle required)
