Education Abroad at UK provides an opportunity for students to study, research and intern abroad. Less than 9% of the students who study abroad at UK are first generation. To encourage this experience additional grants and scholarships are available in you are considering an abroad experience. One program designed specifically for first generation students at UK is the First Adventures in a Global Marketplace. The two week summer program examines how multinational corporations communicate in a 21st century global marketplace. The 2015 version will be taught in Dublin, Ireland. Space is limited to 12 students and you enroll in COM 390: Global Workplace Communication (UK Core Global Dynamics). Taught by Matthew Deffendall (email@example.com), the course includes a mix of in class discussion, business site visits, group activities and excursions.
