With a two-year $100,000 grant from the Louisville-based Gheens Foundation, the University of Kentucky is launching a pilot initiative entitled 1G2UK focused on improving retention and graduation rates for first-generation college students from Jefferson County.
Join us for UK Live in the 'Ville on October 23!
UK Live in the 'Ville is a workshop hosted by the University of Kentucky for first generation students (defined an individual with neither parent or guardian having a bachelor's degree). This workshop will focus on the application process to UK as well as essay writing for college admission. There will be UK staff and students at the event that will help you begin your UK application or check the status of your existing application. All first generation students that attend will receive a waived UK application fee ($50 value), free dinner and a chance to win an iPad! We hope to see you there!
