Astronaut Scholarship

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation makes an annual award to an outstanding student who exhibits motivation, imagination, and exceptional performance in STEM disciplines. Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program

The Youth Exchange Program for Young Professionals is a year-long, work-study fellowship program in Germany for business, technical, vocational, and agricultural fields. Visit the website for more information.

Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) scholarship program provides applicants with awards up to $8,000 per year for full time study and a 10-week internship in the summer for training in oceanic and atmospheric science, research, technology, and education. Explorers Club Youth Activity Fund

Hertz Fellowship

The Hertz Foundation offers fellowships to students in STEM fields who are wishing to pursue a Ph.D. Eligible fields include Applied Physical, Biological, and Engineering Sciences including Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and quantitative aspects of modern Biology. Knowles Math and Science Teaching Fellowship

Math For America trains mathematically talented individuals to become high school math teachers. Fellows receive a stipend and full tuition scholarship to master's level preparation program. National Institutes of Health Graduate Partnerships Program

The NIH Graduate Partnerships Program allows participants to research at the NIH and have the academic environment of a university. Students do not have to be enrolled in a graduate degree program at the time of application, but should intend to enroll and pursue a Ph.D. in the biomedical sciences. National Institutes of Health Intramural Research Training Award

The NIH Postbac IRTA program provides recent college graduates, who are planning to apply to graduate or professional school, to spend one or two years performing full-time research. New York City Teaching Fellows

The NYC Teaching Fellows Program is designed specifically to provide fellows with training, support, and resources needed to succeed as teachers in New York City public schools. Participants teach full-time while earning a master's degree in education at a partnering university. Education majors are not eligible. Pasteur Foundation Undergraduate Internships

The Pasteur Foundation of New York encourages students to pursue scientific careers and expose them to an international laboratory experience during a 10-week summer internship. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and should have working knowledge of French. Visit the website for more information.

Research Experiences for Undergraduates

 

NSF funds research opportunities for undergraduate students through its REU Sites program. An REU Site consists of a group of about ten undergraduates who work in the research programs of the host institution. SMART Scholarship

The SMART Scholarship Program is for students pursuing a degree in STEM disciplines to receive a full scholarship and be employed with the Department of Defense upon graduation. Soros Fellowships for New Americans

The Soros Fellowships provide funding for tuition and living expenses for graduate programs for permanent residents or naturalized citizens. Stowers Scholars Program

The Stowers Summer Scholars Program provides a laboratory experience for students to work on an independent research project under the direction of a principal investigator. TFA is a national corps of recent college graduates who commit to two years to teach in public schools. Corps members receive full salary, benefits, training, and scholarship opportunities. Thaddeus Colson and Isabelle Saalwaechter Fitzpatrick Memorial Scholarship

The Tillman Military Scholars program supports active and veteran service members who are completing a degree. U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science Graduate Fellowship

The DOE Office of Science supports outstanding students to pursue graduate training in basic research areas of physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computational sciences, and environmental sciences relevant to the Office of Science. UNCF/Merck Undergraduate Science Research Scholarship

US-UK Fulbright Summer Institutes

The US-UK Fulbright Commission offers Summer Institutes for US undergraduates (with at least two years of undergraduate study left) to study in the United Kingdom during the summer. USAID Donald M. Payne International Development Fellowship
