About HonorsThe University of Kentucky Honors Program provides an alternative course of instruction for outstanding, highly motivated students from all programs of study. Honors students are diverse, innovative, intellectually engaged, and interested in creative thought. UK Honors students are expected to be citizens of their University and their world, and to possess an inquisitive attitude toward a wide range of ideas and intellectual concepts.

There are many benefits to participating in the Honors Program, including, but not limited to:

  • Priority registration for all classes
  • Honors classes capped at 20 students
  • A wide range of Honors departmental sections
  • One-on-one faculty attention; both formal and informal faculty mentorship
  • Specialized Honors advising in addition to general academic advising
  • Additional resources, programming, and peer mentors in the Honors Living & Learning Program
  • Earn an Honors designation on your transcript and diploma
