Stephanie Biecker

Stephanie Biecker is a sophomore here at the University of Kentucky. She is from Northern Kentucky and is a Biology major with two minors, one in Spanish and the other in Neuroscience. Stephanie’s favorite part about the Honor's program is the Living-Learning community where she was able to make friends with like-minded peers who share similar interests.

Mary Boulanger - Coordinator

Mary Boulanger is from Lexington, KY. She is a junior pursuing a dual degree in Human Nutrition and Biology. Mary loves the Honors Program because she believes the more you are invested in it, the more you will be challenged, enlightened about your interests, and able to follow your passions.

Liza Bustle

Liza Belle Bustle is a sophomore biology major and dance minor from London, Kentucky.  She is a tour guide at the UK Visitor Center and wishes to attend medical school after only three years of undergrad.  Liza loves the people in the Honors Program and enjoys being challenged in the Honors classes to think on a deeper level and look at issues from different perspectives. 

Hannah Davis

Hannah is a sophomore from Trimble County, majoring in biology (pre-pharm)! Her favorite thing about the Honors Program is the variety of classes it offers that are only available to HP students! In just 2 short years, the HP has enriched Hannah's experience here at UK tremendously! If you have any questions, she'd love to answer them! Go CATS! 

Alexandra Feiertag

Alex is a senior at the University of Kentucky majoring in pre-med. She is from Fort Thomas, KY and has taken four semesters of humanities courses through Honors. Alex also participated in the Honors Education Abroad Trip to Paris, France and hopes to attend medical school following graduation. 

Michael Chase Frazier

Chase Frazier is a political science, philosophy, and psychology sophomore at the University of Kentucky. He is from Winchester, KY and is heavily involved in campus Greek life, community service, the Honors Program, and serves as the treasurer of the OUTsource program here at UK. He enjoys traveling, running, and sharing experiences with his Honors cohort. He is most proud of the connections and collaborations he has been able to form since beginning his studies at the University of Kentucky!

Codell Gibson

Cody Gibson is a sophomore in Chemical Engineering, on the pre-med track. In his free time, Cody enjoys spending time with old friends, and making new ones. He loves to read fiction and play ultimate Frisbee. Cody’s most valued Honors experience has been the connections he has been able to form with fellow students.

Sarah Hayden

Sarah Hayden is a senior from Franklin, TN studying political science, classics, and history. She loves the study abroad opportunities available through the Honors Program and is happy to talk about her experience as a Wildcat to any and all prospective students!

Julia “Beth” Insko

Beth Insko is a junior at the University of Kentucky studying English; she plans to teach at the high school level. She's from Richmond, Kentucky. On-campus, she is a Resident Advisor at Central I, where she is able to bond with many students in the Honors LLP. Her favorite part of the Honor's Program is the inclusive and tight-knit community it creates.

Drake Jackson - Trainer

Drake Jackson is a senior mathematical economics and Spanish double major from Benton, KY. He was a Chellgren Fellow during his sophomore year, and is currently a Singletary Scholar and Gaines Fellow. His favorite part about the Honors Program vacillates between the Program’s intergenerational community of outstanding scholars and its ability to connect students with literally all of the resources available to exceptional students at a university as vast and incredible as UK.

Jordan Keeton

Jordan Keeton is a sophomore from Ashland, KY and an alumnus of Russell High School. Currently he is studying finance and economics in the Gatton College of Business and Economics, and hopes to attend law school after graduation. He is involved in a variety of activities on campus, including Student Activities Board, Alpha Kappa Psi, UK Fusion, K Week, and the Chellgren Fellowship Program. He is extremely excited to promote the Honors Program as an ambassador! 

Brandon Kipphut

Brandon is a Junior Computer and Electrical Engineering student from Murray, Kentucky. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and watching the Amazing Race and Criminal Minds.  His favorite part of the Honors Program is the small class sizes that allow for discussion and interaction between students.  Brandon also enjoys the varied class topics that enable him to explore ideas outside of his major courses.

Will Lester

Will Lester is a 2012 Singletary Scholar from Huntington, WV. He plays guitar and piano, and he is majoring in biochemistry. After his undergraduate studies are complete, he is planning to attend medical school. 

Malinda Massey

Malinda or “Lindy” is from quite a few places, but graduated from a high school in Leesburg, GA. She’s a secondary English education and English double major with a German minor. Lindy loves how the Honors Program has both made her push herself in classes and grow as a person. She has learned, and continues to learn, from fellow Honors students as well as her Honors professors and feels that she has a better understanding of her role as a scholar at the University of Kentucky.

Angela Mischke

Angela is a junior majoring in French and Linguistics from Northern Kentucky. She is a member of the APO service fraternity and enjoys cooking ridiculous meals with her roommate. This summer, Angela went on the KIIS Education Abroad trip with the French Department. 

Kaitlin Moore

Kaitlin Moore is a sophomore majoring in Political Science with a minor in psychology. She is originally from White Plains, Kentucky and graduated from Hopkins County Central High School in 2012. Her favorite part of the Honors Program is the sense of community and connectivity with other Honors students and professors. 

Tolu Odukoya

Tolu Odukoya is a sophomore Chellgren Fellow and Singletary Scholar from Ashland, Kentucky. While he majors in biology, he also enjoys playing/writing/recording music. In addition, he is a BS/MD student with an accelerated pre-med track. His favorite aspect of the Honors Program is the growth that comes with interacting with a massive group of intellectually diverse people. He is always open for questions so send him an email!

Roberto Rivera

Roberto Rivera is from Louisville, Kentucky. He is pursuing a degree in Finance with a minor in International Business and he is so happy you're interested in UK and the Honors Program! Roberto has been offered many opportunities through it, from the Journey Journal Project, to attending an immigration reform conference in Tucson thanks to one of his Honors professors! Apply, you won't regret it!

Madelyn Schacht

Madelyn or “Maddie” Schacht is a sophomore nursing major at the University of Kentucky. She was born and raised in Lexington and is a dedicated UK fan in every aspect of her life. Her dream is to use her education for medical mission trips across the globe.

Sunny Singh

Sunny is from Mt. Sterling, KY who has roots from India. He speaks 3 languages (English, Hindi, Punjabi), and he is pursuing a degree in Biology and Spanish. In his free time, Sunny enjoys eating, traveling, and learning trivia. He joined Honors Program in the Fall of 2011 and describes the Honors community as his home away from home.

Andrew Spargo

Drew is a 2nd year pharmacy student from Columbia, Illinois. On campus I am involved with the UK cycling team, the Honors DanceBlue Team, and UK Charity Miles. Outside of school I enjoy racing triathlons and rooting on the Cats and the (St. Louis) Cardinals. 

Shelley Trautman

Shelley is a Political Science and History double major senior from Glasgow, Ky. After graduation she plans to attend law school where she will focus on international law, since traveling has become one of her biggest passions after studying abroad in Spain for a semester. The Honors Program at UK has refined her writing skills and has given her the opportunity to participate in small class sizes which have been absolutely invaluable to her college education.

Faith VanMeter

Faith VanMeter is a sophomore from Green County, Kentucky. She is double majoring in piano and psychology. Honors has given Faith the opportunity to create a community with students from many other disciplines that strive for many of the same academic goals.

Kalin Wilson

Kalin Wilson is a sophomore biology major and psychology minor from Olive Hill, Kentucky. After graduating, she hopes to attend medical school and practice family medicine in a rural setting. Kalin's favorite aspect of the Honors Program is the opportunity to personally connect with outstanding students and faculty in a one-of-a-kind community.
