City Year

City Year participants serve for 10 months as tutors, mentors and role models in schools across the U.S. as well as South Africa and England. Benefits include a living stipend, $5,500 award, student loan forbearance, and health insurance. Students must have a college degree and be younger than 24 at the time of application. Boren Graduate Fellowship

Boren Fellowships allow U.S. graduate students to study languages abroad in Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. Students must be a U.S. Citizen, enrolled in or planning to enroll in a graduate program in the United States, and planning an overseas trip while enrolled in graduate school. A condition of this award is the NSEP service requirement.
