Breathitt Undergraduate Lecture

Established to honor Edward T. Breathitt, an eminent Kentuckian (Governor of KY, 1963-67) and an outstanding alumnus of the University of Kentucky whose interest in higher education and the humanities was exceptional, this lectureship is awarded to an undergraduate whose qualities of mind and spirit have been expressed eloquently on one or more of the basic concerns of the humanities: form, value, and memory.

The 2014 Breathitt Lecture was held at 7pm, Thursday, January 30, 2014 in the W. T. Young Library auditorium.

The lecture is named for the late Governor Edward T. Breathitt, an outstanding alumnus of University of Kentucky whose interest in higher education and the humanities was exceptional. Evan is a senior majoring in Geography and International Studies.

The award is presented by the UK Gaines Center for the Humanities.

The Edward T. Breathitt Undergraduate Lecturer receives a special award and an honorarium of $500.
