First, do your own research. Look through the list of scholarships on the Opportunities page. When you find opportunities that interest you, read through the eligibility criteria to make sure you qualify for that award. It is important to pay close attention to requirements such as GPA, citizenship, and year in school. Be sure to visit the sponsoring organization's website for full details about the award.
After you have narrowed the list of scholarships in which you are interested, fill out a student profile form. This form starts your record in the Office of External Scholarships and lets us know that you interested in applying for an award.
Then make plans to meet individually with Dr. Whitlow or check the website for the dates of upcoming scholarship information sessions. Please come prepared to discuss your future career aspirations and learn what you can do to make yourself a more competitive applicant. The earlier you get involved in the scholarship advising process, the more likely that can prepare yourself to be a strong candidate.
