The Lexington Sister Cities Commission offers students from Lexington to gain professional experience through an internship in France. Benefits include a placement for internship, living arrangements, and some compensation. Applicants must be 18 years old, have good knowledge of French, and be available to be abroad for 2 months. Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) scholarship program provides applicants with awards up to $8,000 per year for full time study and a 10-week internship in the summer for training in oceanic and atmospheric science, research, technology, and education. EPA Greater Research Opportunities Fellowships for Undergraduates

The Fellowship offers Latinos who have earned a bachelor's degree within two years of the program start date a paid, nine-month fellowship to gain experience at the national level in public policy.
