Faculty: DAAD Proposals due

DAAD is inviting research groups from all over the world to host a German undergraduate to assist with their research in the summer of 2014. Internship projects can be submitted online at

http://www.daad.de/rise-weltweit/en/index.html

The database for project proposals is open from October 07, 2013 through November 24, 2013.

Once DAAD has checked an offer concerning formal eligibility, it will be posted in the intern database on our website. This database is accessible to anyone who is interested in applying and has registered online. Students participating in this program come from the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, engineering, medicine, or a closely related field, and will receive a DAAD scholarship to help cover living expenses and travel costs.

Each student applying for an internship may apply for up to three projects, between December 2, 2013 and January 12, 2014. The prospective hosts are then asked to provide DAAD with a ranking of the applications for their projects which will be taken into account when matching students to projects.

Please note: Only those students whose applications have been accepted, reviewed and ranked by a potential host may be placed with that host’s project. However, we cannot guarantee in every case that a project provider will be matched with his or her top applicant. Furthermore, due to limited funding some projects may not be matched with an intern at all.

A call for proposals, our flyer, and the key steps for potential hosts are attached. More information can also be found on our website. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
