Penny is the jack-of-all-trades in the Honors Office. You will see her as you open the main door and you will hear her when you call the office. Her duties include maintaining the HP database, the HP website, and processing applications and prospective student visits. She helps the Honors Program faculty with their book orders, syllabi, and grades. Penny can also be found un-jamming a copier, reattaching a doorknob, or bringing in cookies for the students. She voluteers with FUSION and is a member of the Staff Senate.
Penny started working in the Honors Program at the University of Kentucky at the end of September in 2008. Her past work experiences include everything from sending a US Swimming Team to compete in the Pan American Games through “Checkpoint Charlie” in East Berlin - to testing the software that controlled the Space Station toilet prototype. With her work background, Penny has acquired experience in database management, website design, accounting, and non-profit administration.
In over the past 15 years, Penny has volunteered countless hours to organizations such as the Girl Scouts, the Lexington Ballet, and Project Linus. A mother of three, Penny lives in Lexington with her husband, Paul, four dogs and two cats.
