Using Attempt Statistics and Download Results in Grade Center

Curious about which questions students missed most often on a blackboard assessment? Or the answers a specific student made for each question on a test? Well blackboard can provide answers to these inquiries by using the Attempt Statistics and Download Results from the drop down menu on the columns found in the Grade Center. These tools are helpful by allowing instructors to see which questions students had more difficulty with, leading to either rewriting the question for future examinations or perhaps not counting it towards the end grade for the assignment.

Tech Tips Week #3: VirtualDen Introduction

This week's Tech Tips video, brought to you by the ATG Scholars, showcases the VirtualDen application available to UK students, faculty and staff. Use VirtualDen to gain access to programs on campus that you may not have at home, such as some Microsoft Office and Adobe Software. This video highlights which programs are available for use, and how to navigate the application for unexperienced users. VirtualDen is available for use at apps.uky.edu with a valid Link Blue ID and password.

The video below is a tutorial of how to reset your link blue password using the UK Account manager, which can be found at ukam.uky.edu. This portal contains the options for self-reset questions, password reset and expiration notifications, as well as managing the passwords of your live@edu and @g.uky.edu accounts. Simply follow the steps included in this video to understand how to navigate and correctly use the account manager to reset your password.

The Challenges of Using e-Textbooks

The Chronicle for Higher Education hosts a series of blogs ranging from administrative issues to athletics. Two of these blogs, Wired Campus and ProfHacker, are regular stops for me. Welcome back, everyone! As you have no doubt already noticed, this Fall 2012 brings a new website and lots of extra content for you! Feel free to take a look around and see what's new - this quick introduction to the website might give you some ideas!

One of the most important changes to note is that Blackboard has been upgraded. Don't worry; it's the same old Blackboard with a new look, quicker navigation, and more grading options. To learn more about some of the new features, please read our New in Blackboard 9.1 Service Pack 8 page. If your students need help, feel free to refer them to our Student Information Guide.

Need help preparing your research posters? We've added a Research Posters page, which includes free poster templates, UK graphics and logos, preparation instructions, and local printing services.

We're constantly adding new videos to YouTube, so check out the UK TechClips channel to stay updated with the latest tutorials and event recordings. You can also find these videos at UKIT on iTunes U.
