Spring 2017 Career Courses

We have several options for spring 2017 career courses.

1) UK 150, sections 001 to 007 need enrollment. We are specifically offering career courses this spring to assist freshmen (and sophomores). The course is 1 credit hour and pass/fail. I am sending information to all UNUS students but I need all advisors to recommend these courses as they are most aware of which students need to be enrolled. Please recommend these courses.

Chellgren Student Fellows Information Session - January 25

First-year students are invited to an information session on Wednesday, January 25 at 6:00pm in 200 Funkhouser to learn more about the Chellgren Student Fellows Program. Free pizza will be provided.

Seating is limited, so registration is required by January 23,

Lee T. Todd, Jr. Building

In December, it was announced that the Biological Pharmaceutical Complex Building (BPC) will now be known as the Lee T. Todd, Jr. Building (TODD): This change has been made in SAP, Ad Astra, and the online course catalog. You will now be able to find the building under the TODD building prefix. Please review, and let me know if you have any questions.

Art courses now open to all students

All sections of A-S 103 (Three-Dimensional Form) are now open to all students! This is a fun course that fulfills CORE Arts & Creativity. Students explore the principles of sculpture and build work out of wire, cardboard, and other materials. All sections of A-H 106 (Renaissance Through Modern Art History) are also now open. This course fulfills CORE Humanities and traces the history of art from Leonardo da Vinci to Jeff Koons.

UK Education Abroad Scholarship Deadline - Moved Up

Dear Advisors,

Happy New Year and welcome back to campus! Before the semester begins, I wanted to make a reminder announcement. The summer term UK Education Abroad deadline has been moved up to February 1st. No late applications will be accepted.

Before the deadline we will be hosting the scholarship workshop - renamed to Funding for Education Abroad will encompass tips, review essays, and how to budget and search for scholarships. This event will be on January 26th from Noon-3pm in the Hub of W.T. Library with sessions on repeat. Students can come for one or stay for all.

STEM Majors Can Earn Credit Offering Science Workshop for Middle School Girls Spring 2017

ENT 110: Insect Biology

ENT 110 is an overview of the biology of insects and covers broad topics such as behavior, ecology, physiology, and evolution, as well as insect identification, insect pests, and beneficial insects. This course fulfills the UK Core Natural Sciences requirement.
