Bachelor's Degree (Undergraduate)
Information for Prospective Students

Pursuing a Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) in Agricultural Education opens many doors for employment after graduation. Students could pursue careers in or as:

  • Agricultural Education Teachers (grades 5-12)
  • Extension Agents (Agriculture/Natural Resources and 4-H)
  • Agricultural Sales and Service
  • Human Resources
  • Public Relations

Students interested in Agricultural Education work with Career and Technical Education at the University of Kentucky. Most teacher preparation coursework is shared with Family and Consumer Sciences Education students, except for Early Field Experience (Practicum) and Student Teaching. Agricultural Education students also take technical agriculture classes in the areas of: Plant Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Engineering, Soil Science and Agricultural Economics.

Student Sara Riggs shares why she has chosen Ag Ed in this video clip.
