The Social N' Agricultural Resource Lab (fondly referred
to as SNARL) was the brainchild of a former faculty member in our
department. In 1999, the website was inherited by Dr.
Julie N. Zimmerman.
The name (despite several variations) has intentionally
preserved the original acronym SNARL. (After all, what does a UK
wildcat do? SNARL!)
Since its beginning, while the contents of SNARL have
evolved, the primary purpose has remained the same: to provide web-based
access to resources useful for communities and county extension agents in
the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
SNARL is a resource provided by the Department of
Community and Leadership Development in the College of Agriculture at the
University of Kentucky.
