This is a monthly test of the system. Information will be published here in the event of an actual cancellation or alert. 

Announcement and Test: Weather Cancellation

In the event of the CANCELLATION of classes and closure of offices, one of the following announcements will be made:
"Classes at the University of Kentucky are cancelled today (date) and only Plan B employees are required to report to work."
 In the event of a DELAYED opening, the following announcement will be made: 
"UK classes scheduled to begin before (X) a.m. are cancelled.  Classes beginning at (X) a.m. and thereafter will meet. Employees are to report to work at (X) a.m. except those required to report earlier under Plan B."
 In the event of an EARLY CANCELLATION of classes and release of staff, the following announcement will be made:
"Classes at the University of Kentucky beginning at (X) p.m. and thereafter are cancelled. Employees will be dismissed at (X) p.m. with the exception of those affected by Plan B."

Dec. 9, 7-11 p.m., Student Center Worsham Theater - Relax with hot chocolate, cookies and a "finals week survival kit" as SAB's Cinema Committee presents "Elf" at 7 p.m. and "Love Actually" at 9 p.m. Free to UK students. Sponsored by the Student Activities Board. More info (859) 257-8867.

Dec. 9, 7-8:15 p.m., William T. Young Library Gallery (next to the Auditorium on the first floor) - Take a study break and become a Holiday Helper at the Center for Community Outreach's All Call. In the spirit of the giving season, we invite you to make holiday cards and decorate stockings for residents of local hospitals and assisted living homes. Enjoy free festive treats and learn about upcoming service opportunities the CCO has to offer. More info 404-713-5698.

Dec. 11, 5-8 p.m., Blazer Cafe - Special unlimited buffet event including cornish hen with wild rice, carved prime rib au jus, pappardellee pasta with wild mushroom ragout, parmesan mashed potatoes, sage and thyme veloute, winter melon salad, smoked salmon, tiger fudge, and much more. UK faculty, staff, students, and their guests are invited to enjoy this holiday dinner. Dining plan or $8.55 per person. Sponsored by UK Dining Services. More info 859-257-5260.

Dec. 12, 7 a.m.-1 a.m., Ovids Cafe at W.T. Young Library - Ovids Cafe will have extended hours during finals week. Dining plan purchases available from 7 a.m. until midnight during the special hours and early morning purchases, midnight until 7 a.m., may be made with cash, credit cards, flex dollars, or plus Accounts.
