Creating Your Brand on Campus
Want to create a specialized event? Contact the Employer Relations Team to brainstorm ideas!
Branding is essential to connecting to candidates and achieving your recruitment goals! Build your presence on campus by being active. We offer a number of opportunities to engage with candidate as well as faculty to become the “employer of choice” to the students and graduates of the University of Kentucky. The Stuckert Career Center offers several opportunities to host events, volunteer, and network with candidates. Here are a list of events and activities for branding:
Attend one of UK’s career fairs to network with students and graduates interested in internships and employment opportunities. Make the most of your visit by building an interview schedule at the fair and follow up with on campus interviews the next day.
Employer Information Sessions
Conduct informal group information sessions to help students learn about your organization. In the past, the Career Center has helped employers organize breakfast and lunch meetings, pizza parties, follow-up receptions after career fairs, sporting event gatherings, and formal dinners.
Host a casual, catered event like a hiring social or networking dinner to meet and greet with students and alumni in an informal setting. Socials are ideal if recruiting a specific college or group of students. They allow for your organizations representatives to interact with candidates and share about your organization in a relaxed environment.
Interested in recruiting students and growing your company’s awareness at the heart of campus? Then consider reserving tabling space at the Student Center or in a targeted college. Contact the Employer Relations Team for more information and/or to reserve a table.
Diversity Networking Events
Meet with UK multicultural students at events throughout the year. Take advantage of this opportunity to build a diverse workforce.
Build your recognition on campus by participating in events, such as, critiquing student resumes at Resumania events or offer your interviewing expertise to conduct practice interviews. Students value what hiring officials say about their interviewing skills. Students appreciate feedback from employers and it’s a great opportunity to build your brand. Also, conduct workshops, classroom visits, and sit on panels that are conducted throughout the academic year.
Panel Discussions and Workshops
Help teach workshops or participate in panel discussions for students on topics such as resume writing, interviewing skills, networking, and job searching in specific fields. The Career Center is always looking for new workshop topics and experienced professionals.
Marketing Through Sponsorship and Advertisement
We have a number of packages and/or can provide a customized package to increase or complement the effectiveness of your recruitment strategy. Allow us to assist in maximizing your company’s branding efforts through sponsorship and advertisement opportunities throughout the year at UK. Revenue generated allows us to continue to provide cutting edge services and resources to meet the growing needs of students.
UK Alumni Career Network
Provide career information and guidance to UK students through this cooperative program between the UK Alumni Association and the Career Center. The level of involvement is up to you. Options available include telephone or email communications, one-time face to face informational interviews, and hosting site visits and shadowing experiences for students.
