New Faculty Teaching Academy: Handling Challenging Situations
Niles Gallery, Lucille Little Fine Arts Library
Thursday, January 26, 2017 - 3:00pm
Workshop concludes at 4:00.
Student incivilities in and out of the classroom are uncomfortable situations, whether it's texting or talking during class, dominating a discussion, using a laptop for non-class purposes, making inappropriate remarks, or other discourteous and disrespectful behavior. This workshop will focus on what could have been done to prevent or mitigate these incidences and what can be done if the behavior occurs.
This workshop is part of the New Faculty Teaching Academy series designed to provide new faculty with basic information that will contribute to a successful start at UK. However, all instructional populations are welcomed to attend. The workshop is offered twice in order to access more faculty. It is not a two-part workshop.
Coffee, water, and light snacks will be provided.
