Specimen counting

Most of the collaborators who submitted species data to the database did not include abundance information in their data. Therefore, we cannot know exactly how many specimens have been identified. The database, after counting the given abundance data, counts 1 for every sample a species occurs in. So this number represents the minimum number - the actual number is probably 1.5 - 2 times as many.
