Our Clinics

The Center enrolls individuals for evaluation and follow-up, including:

  • Normal control subjects
  • Individuals with mild memory problems
  • Individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease or related dementias

The UK-ADC Clinical Core is dedicated to the study of normal brain aging and transitions across the spectrum of cognitive impairment (normal/ preclinical AD/ MCI/ dementia). The Core provides an integrated program of diagnosis, treatment and research. Clinical research participants are followed annually with neurological exams, cognitive testing, functional assessments, and are offered family support. In addition, educational programs for family members and/or professionals are provided through the Center. Clinics are staffed by neurologists, psychometrists, and social workers.

Clinical Care

Our research participants receive medical treatment and follow-up care for Alzheimer’s disease, frontal dementias, Lewy body disease and other dementias research participants from our expert physicians. However, when patients diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or related memory problems agree to participate in research studies, it is important that they continue to receive comprehensive clinical care from their primary care physician. Though patients participating in research studies will receive periodic research evaluations, depending on the specific research protocol, this does not substitute for regular clinical care. Our physicians are specialists and do not offer primary care, but they do encourage close communication with your private physicians.

Our specialists will be happy to share their findings with your physician, if requested.
