Honoring Kentuckians who have reached 100.
On Saturday November 22, we will recognize and honor those who have reached the age of 100 and maintain and active lifestyle. We look forward to this event and the opportunity to celebrate these wonderful individuals who exemplify graceful aging and serve as inspirations to others to remain engaged in life and the pursuit of personal goals.
This award is given in honor of the late David R. Wekstein, PhD. Dr. Wekstein, who passed away in in June 2014, was the former associate director of the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging. In 1989, Dr. Wekstein initiated the normal aging volunteer program at the UK-Alzheimer’s Disease Center that has now grown to one of the largest longitudinal research programs of healthy brain aging in the nation.
In 2008, the foundation selected Essie Barned, 100, of Louisville as the first recipient of the David R. Wekstein Centenarian Award.
Help us celebrate these wonderful individuals who have reached this remarkable milestone. Individual Tickets can be purchased online.
Sponsorship Opportunities are available beginning at $500.
