Wildcat Wellbeing Workshops

The UKCC offers a variety of drop-in workshops held at Frazee Hall to help you be a healthier YOU at UK! ALL UK students are welcome to attend these workshops. No appointment is necessary and you do not need to be a UKCC client to attend these programs. 


Beating Test Anxiety

This workshop is for students who prepare well for class exams but consistently receive low test scores. Low test scores may be due to many factors such as test anxiety or concentration/focus problems. The workshop facilitator will help students definite the problem and develop useful solutions. The content is the same for all sessions.

Peak Performance: Introduction to Biofeedback

This workshop will introduce you to what biofeedback is, how to use the biofeedback equipment in the relaxation room, and how biofeedback can help you achieve your
peak performance!

Drop in and spend some time with the UK Police Department’s first K-9 Therapy dog, Oliver.

Major/Career Decision Making  

This workshop is for students who have not picked a major, those who are struggling in their majors and those who are disinterested in their majors, and those who are having difficulty making career decisions. The workshop format is 45-50 minutes of interactive activities that introduce students to steps involved in making important life decisions. Students will learn more about their interests and values as well as resources to help in their decision making. The content is the same for all sessions.

The body of research on mindfulness is overwhelmingly positive and ever increasing.  Meditation is a major component of becoming more mindful and of developing a regular mindfulness practice.  Meditating can help with concentration, patience, self-compassion, sleep, and overall stress management and well-being. This drop-in workshop (no appointment needed) includes brief discussion about mindfulness practice, a professional leading guided meditations, and some silent meditation time. All levels of experience are welcome.

Question, Persuade, Refer [Suicide Prevention Program]

Learn to recognize the warning signs that someone is thinking about suicide and how to apply three steps to save a life. Attendees will receive a QPR booklet and card with information on suicide prevention as well as resource information within the community. For more information about the program, visit:
