Historic Preservation Admissions
Admission Steps and Requirements:

Must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

Must have a B grade point average at the undergraduate level.

Must fill out and mail the Historic Preservation Program application. Applications are due March 1.

Must apply separately to the University of Kentucky Graduate School.

Must demonstrate ability in writing, drawing, drafting, and/or photography through submission of a portfolio:

Portfolio will NOT be returned to applicants and should not include original work.

Portfolio should be of quality and succinctly presented.

Portfolio should be letter size (no binder) and not exceed 20 sheets.

All included material should present visual acuity and graphic abilities through, but not limited to, a selection of: architectural/engineering drawings, painting, drawings, prints, graphic design, or photography. Exhibited work should be accompanied by brief statement of intent, degree of involvement (where not self-evident) and/or the rationale for the work.

Must submit three letters of recommendation.

Must submit a personal essay.
