Dean Speaks Serves on Jury for International Design Competition in Taiwan

Michael Speaks, Dean of the University of Kentucky College of Design is currently serving on the jury for the New Keelung Harbor Service Building International Competition in Keelung City, Taiwan.

Designs from all over the world were accepted into the two-stage competition. Dean Speaks announced on his Twitter account (@mspeaks), "Thursday Press Conference at Keelung Harbor to announce the first round selections for the new port terminal building. Great to be on this jury."  The winning design for the $140 million construction project will be announced September 15.

While in Taiwan, Dean Speaks will also participate in an open discussion entitled "Young Practices, New Agenda, and the Current Situation" with his friend and collegue David Erdman, a visiting professor of design at the Hong Kong University Department of Architecture.
