The Houseboat to Energy Efficient Residence project (HBEER), a partnership between the UK College of Design, the Center for Applied Energy Research at UK, the Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation (KHIC) and the Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), will be featured in the August 2012 edition of Kentucky Monthly Magazine.
The project has gone beyond the prototype phase, and now consists of two occupied units. The HBEER project hopes to revitalize Kentucky's ailing houseboat industry and bring jobs and manufacturing to the Commonwealth.
