2.15.12 Accounting Workshop
Faculty, students and local entrepreneurs attended the third of a four-part commercialization series sponsored by the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship on Feb. 15. Doug Steele, a financial analyst for the Lexington Innovation & Commercialization Center, gave the first part of his presentation, “Basic Finance for the Non-Financial Entrepreneur.”
The next workshop “Seeking Funding Opportunities & Investors” is March 20 in the W.T. Young Library.

Douglas K. Steele is the former CEO and president of Interior Services Corporation, which he founded in 1991. The company's divisions, Interspace and Bruce Wholesale, achieved peak revenue of $27 million before they were sold in 2004 and 2008, respectively. Prior to ISC, Steele was president of Interspace Limited and had a 22-year career in commercial banking. Steele has served as shareholder and director of Mountain Metals Manufacturing Corp. In addition, Steele has served in leadership roles at several civic organizations as well as Commerce Lexington.
